The American Red Cross community is devastated to announce that longtime executive of the initiatives, Donna Morrissey, has passed away. In March 2020, Morrissey unfortunately lost her battle with COVID-19.
For 17 years, Donna Morrissey was personally and professionally dedicated to the mission and message of American Red Cross. For 17 years, she represented the organization’s Northeast Division as Director of Communications. Through this role, she encouraged and collaborated with numerous volunteers and colleagues in American Red Cross projects launched throughout the Northeast Division.

Fellow American Red Cross affiliate, Dennis Stolpner, is sad to hear the news of Donna Morrissey’s tragic passing. Her spirit and vivacity for helping others was truly inspirational to all those who were fortunate enough to work with her. Like Stolpner, Morrissey was a major player in disaster relief efforts launched by American Red Cross. She assisted in relief for large-scale disasters and mass casualties, such as the Boston Marathon bombing, Hurricane Harvey and the Pulse Nightclub shooting.
