Red Cross Club chapters bring service-minded youth together in communities across the nation. Dennis Stolpner discusses how the American Red Cross is reimagining the leadership initiative for the modern day:
The Red Cross Club is going virtual! But only in West Lafayette, Indiana (for now). A ‘first-of-its-kind’ initiative, the virtual Red Cross Club will connect Purdue University Global students nationwide to participate in volunteer efforts led by the American Red Cross in communities across the country. Much like the ARC volunteers, members of the virtual Red Cross Club will collaboratively work on disaster relief and blood donation service projects.
Longtime American Red Cross supporter and hurricane relief volunteer, Dennis Stolpner is excited to see where this new take could lead. Now more than ever, the ARC and RCC initiatives are in desperate need of eager volunteers — especially chapters in areas most severely impacted by the current hurricane season. Could encouraging virtual collaboration help the organization find more volunteers? It will be interesting to see how this ‘first-of-its-kind’ launch develops!
