Happy Veterans Day from Dennis Stolpner and the American Red Cross! This year, the nonprofit organization honors and recognizes volunteers across the country who have served in the US military and armed forces.
Thank you to those who have served and continue to serve! Your selflessness and heroism deserves recognition — not only on Veterans Day but every day! In communities across the country, there are veterans who continue their commitment to serving others. This is particularly true of veterans who volunteer their time with the American Red Cross. According to Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans & Military Families (IVMF), there is a direct link between military service and civic participation. Many veterans continue to carry the torch of helping others, long after they’ve retired or entered different professions in civilian industries.
A whopping 14% of Red Cross volunteers are veterans. Dennis Stolpner believes that this statistic is specifically worth mentioning because it highlights the reality of just how involved these wonderful individuals are with the ARC. They are the spirit, drive and passion of the organization! Stolpner is proud to have served right alongside these American heroes on disaster relief efforts, especially in response to the devastation of Hurricane Harvey in 2017.
